If you want to view everything from above, you need to drive to San Agustin and locate the old aeroplane (this is not one that you go flying in) as a small airfield is located nearby where you can book helicopter excursions.
There are four different excursions to choose from:
10-minute trip to the mountains and Meloneras where you fly back along the coast;
20-minute trip where you fly inland to Fataga valley and then head back to San Agustin;
30-minute trip to the middle of Gran Canaria across Pueblo de Mogan to Roque Nublo and then back to San Agustin.
You can also choose the longest trip that takes you around the island. On this trip, it is easy to see the difference between the dry areas in the south and the fertile land in the north. To get a view of Las Palmas from above is also extraordinary. This trip takes about one hour.
It is possible to be picked up at your hotel.
In addition, this airfield is also used for staging international racing events - both motorbikes and motorcars.
